A removal plan built around your property and access
Moving from a seafront flat requires a different plan from leaving a bungalow in Holland-on-Sea, a town-centre property or a family home in one of the surrounding Tendring villages.
Every move begins with a free survey so the team can check what needs transporting, parking at both addresses, stairs, lifts, doorways, driveways and any fragile or unusually large belongings.
Once those details are confirmed, you receive a clear quotation covering the agreed crew, vehicle, packing support and any storage needed between properties.

View storage servicesLocal details that can affect moving day
The town combines seafront roads, central shopping streets, flats, residential areas and nearby villages. The survey checks the actual access rather than assuming that every local property needs the same vehicle and crew.
Seafront parking
Marine Parade and nearby seafront roads include parking restrictions and busy visitor areas. The nearest suitable loading point and carrying distance should be confirmed before moving day.
Town-centre properties
Limited kerb space, yellow lines, paid parking, narrow entrances and pedestrian activity can affect where the removal vehicle can safely stop.
Flats and apartment buildings
Floor level, lift dimensions, shared corridors, entrance access and any building booking rules should be checked during the survey.
Summer and event traffic
Seafront events and busy summer dates can increase traffic and demand for parking, so the moving date and vehicle arrival time should be planned early.
A133 access
The A133 is the main connection between Clacton and Colchester. Route timing can be considered for local and long-distance moves entering or leaving the Tendring area.
Village and rural properties
Narrow lanes, gateways, overhanging trees and limited turning space may require a smaller vehicle or a different loading arrangement.
Five stages from survey to final placement
Access, packing, staffing, timings and storage are agreed before the removal vehicle arrives.
Check the move
The team assesses the volume, larger items, parking and access at both addresses.

Questions about removals in Clacton-on-Sea
Practical information about seafront access, parking, packing, storage and moving dates.
Do you cover Holland-on-Sea, Jaywick and nearby villages?
Yes. The service covers Clacton-on-Sea, the surrounding coastal communities and villages throughout the wider Tendring area. Send both postcodes when arranging the survey.
Can you move us from a seafront property with limited parking?
Yes. Parking restrictions, the nearest legal loading position and the carrying distance should be checked during the survey so the right crew and vehicle can be included in the quotation.
Can you handle flats and upper-floor apartments?
Yes. Tell the team the floor level and whether the building has a lift. Shared entrances, stairs, lift dimensions and loading access can then be included in the move plan.
Should we avoid busy summer or seafront event dates?
Not necessarily, but early planning helps. Visitor traffic, events and parking demand can affect access, so provide the moving date and property postcode as soon as possible.
Can you reach rural properties outside the town?
Yes. Lane width, gateways, driveways and turning areas can be checked during the survey. A smaller vehicle or a different loading plan can be arranged where required.
Do you provide office and commercial removals?
Yes. Business moves can include furniture, workstations, documents and equipment, with phased, evening or weekend planning discussed where appropriate.
Are cartons and packing materials included?
Cartons and protective materials are included when Weston & Edwards completes the packing. Materials can also be supplied beforehand when you prefer to pack yourself.
Can you pack only fragile or valuable items?
Yes. Partial packing can focus on glassware, artwork, antiques and other belongings that require professional wrapping while you pack the remaining items.
Can my belongings go into storage between properties?
Yes. Short and long-term storage can be included when completion dates do not match, during renovation work or while the new property is not ready.
Are our belongings insured during the move?
Goods are covered by insurance up to £100,000 while they are in the company’s care. High-value items should be declared during the survey so the cover and packing can be confirmed.
What happens if our keys are delayed?
Weston & Edwards does not add waiting fees when a completion delay holds up the release of keys. Storage can also be discussed if delivery cannot be completed that day.
