Question 1

Do you cover the villages around Bury St Edmunds, such as Fornham, Great Barton, and Horringer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our Bury St Edmunds removals runs extend to the surrounding west Suffolk villages including Fornham All Saints, Fornham St Martin, Great Barton, Horringer, Rougham, Ixworth, Thurston, Risby, and Barrow. If your collection or delivery address is in one of these villages, let us know when you book and we will confirm the route.

Question 2

How do you handle access and parking in the town centre, especially on market days?

Accepted Answer

The historic core around Abbeygate Street and the Traverse is pedestrianised in places, Angel Hill is cobbled with Georgian frontages, and the streets are narrow, so a removal lorry cannot always reach the door. Market days on Wednesday and Saturday add congestion around Cornhill and the Buttermarket. We assess access at survey stage and can arrange a suitable vehicle, an early start, or a timed loading window where access is restricted.

Question 3

What does the £100,000 goods-in-transit insurance cover on a Bury St Edmunds move?

Accepted Answer

Our £100,000 goods-in-transit insurance is included as standard on every removals Bury St Edmunds job, with no extra premium. It covers your belongings from the point our crew begins loading at your address to delivery and placement at the new property. For high-value individual items such as fine art, antiques, or IT equipment, flag these at survey stage so we can confirm appropriate handling and that cover applies correctly.

Question 4

How far in advance should I book removals in Bury St Edmunds?

Accepted Answer

For most moves, booking two to four weeks ahead is sufficient outside peak periods. June, July, and August are the busiest months, and end-of-month completion dates fill quickly. If your solicitor has confirmed a likely completion date, contact us to provisionally hold it; we can lock it in once exchange is confirmed.

Question 5

Do you offer storage for Bury St Edmunds customers between sale and move-in?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Short and long-term containerised storage is available at South Heath Warehouse, Great Bentley, Colchester, CO7 8RD, on the A14 corridor from Bury St Edmunds. Your belongings are held securely at the warehouse and released when you are ready to take delivery at the new address. Let us know at survey stage if you need a storage window so we can build it into your written quote.
